Unless you hear otherwise from your coach, games will be played as scheduled.

After an unseasonably dry October, we are faced with the threat of rain this weekend. As much as we’d hate to see rain on Halloween, it won’t be much fun on Saturday either — except, maybe, for the players ;-). Keep in mind that some fields will remain playable, while others may not.

If rain causes delays or cancellation in any soccer games, the first person contacted will be your coach … who will in-turn contact each player. Please make sure your coach has your current contact information, and wait to hear from them.

This website will be updated as time and technology allow.

As the season winds down, we are gathering Team Pictures, player recognition trophies, and PAL commemorative pins for every player in the league. These items will be distributed to coaches in the near future, and in turn given to each player. More information will be available soon!

The schedule for the remainder of the season has been released, and it includes games through November 8.

Our End of Season Tournament will be hosted in Santa Clara or Milpitas on November 15-16. The brackets, divisions, and games schedule will be determined in November.

While technical errors have delayed the production of the full schedule for the remainder of the 2008 season, Schedules for Saturday, October 4, have been released.

Games beyond this Saturday will be announced soon. We hope.

As you probably know, many parents and coaches in PAL Soccer are working to increase our area’s representation in the National Bone Marrow Donor Program, which seeks to match potential donors with cancer patients who need transplants to survive.

One of our PAL Soccer Players is battling a rare form of leukemia, and desperately needs a marrow donor. In particular, this young man’s need highlights the urgent need for additional donors from the Hispanic community.

Willow Glen PAL will be hosting a bone marrow informational booth at this weekend’s Jamboree, and you are invited to stop by to learn more about this bone marrow donation effort. In addition, we could use more volunteers to staff the booth and facilitate voluntary donor registrations.

With the Mid-Season Break upon us, it’s time for the PAL Soccer Jamboree and Picture Day … scheduled for Saturday, September 27.

In addition to your Team Pictures, you are invited to participate in a number of soccer-related activities and review the wares of soccer various local merchants. The PAL snack shack will be open as well. The entire event runs from 9:00 am to approximately 3:00 pm on Saturday, at San Jose’s PAL Stadium, 680 South 34th Street, San Jose, CA 95116

No Games September 27 … visit PAL Soccer Jamboree

We’ve completed the First Half of the 2008 Fall Season, and youth soccer games will take the week off next weekend, with games resuming on Saturday, October 4.

We use game scores and results from the first four games to create balanced divisions for the second half. The fourth game was Sept 20, and then our volunteers at the Metro PAL level will now process results and release a schedule. We’ll know more as we get closer to the end of the month, and we will keep you posted.

The schedule for PAL Soccer Team Pictures has been released. Team Pictures coincide with the Metro PAL Soccer Jamboree, scheduled for Saturday, September 27. There will be no soccer games that day. Please confirm your pictrue time and other team specific details with your coach.

PAL is hosting a “Final Final” coaches clinic for those of you who had parents step up and want to help, but missed out on the clinics we did over the summer. Parents on teams with only one coach are welcome to become certified:

Remember, only licensed coaches can represent a team during practices and games. If your team has only one licensed coach, it would be good to recruit a parent to get their license for those times you might not be able to make a game or practice.

The tentative First Half Schedule has been released by the Metro PAL organization, and is available on line.

As with all schedules, it is subject to change. Please confirm with your coach before each game to be sure the schedule has not changed. Up to date PAL Soccer Field Locations are also now online.
